Job Description

Epsilogen is seeking a Research Scientist with proven tissue culture experience to join the company at this exciting time in our development. If successful, you will be part of a dynamic and innovative environment. This role requires accurate and precise experimental design and execution in the areas of therapeutic antibody discovery/characterization and antibody pre-clinical development. The role will be based at laboratory facilities in West London and will principally involve design and execution of experiments and associated laboratory activities.

To succeed, you will have a deep understanding of drug discovery and pre-clinical development gained from a combination of academia as well as the biotech and/or pharma industry experience. You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, possess acute attention to detail and be fully familiar with current laboratory practice.

Epsilogen is run by a small, dedicated group of professionals with substantial multi-decade experience of the biotechnology industry across all relevant fields including therapeutic antibody discovery and engineering, cellular immunology, preclinical development, manufacturing, intellectual property creation and prosecution, clinical development, financing and business development. Key responsibilities

You will undertake laboratory work aimed at supporting product discovery and platform development projects towards establishment of candidates for formal pre-clinical development. You will provide regular updates and reports to management.

Person specification

  • A proven track record of practical achievement in a laboratory setting.
  • Ideally, you will have a degree in biological/biochemical science, or equivalent experience, preferably across academia and the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Possess a wide range of technical skills including:
  • outstanding aseptic technique
  • mammalian tissue culture experience
  • transfection of mammalian cells
  • protein expression
  • culture harvesting
  • molecular biology
  • Analytical techniques including SDS PAGE and HPLC.
  • Work with bacteria and DNA.
